Surcharges

Surcharge Description	Fee
Additional Handling (Weight) Applies to a shipment containing any parcel, item, box, or package that has an actual weight greater than 31kg (but less than 68kg). This does not apply to an item, box, or package on a standard pallet.	NATIONAL: 10.00 € per shipment, plus fuel. INTERNATIONAL: 20.00 € per shipment, plus fuel.
Additional Handling (Packaging) This charge applies if your item: >is not fully encased in an outer shipping container or packaging; >is encased in an outer shipping container or packaging not made of corrugated fibreboard (cardboard) materials, including but not limited to metal, wood, canvas, leather, hard plastic, soft plastic, or expanded polystyrene foam (e.g., Styrofoam) >is encased in an outer shipping container or packaging covered in shrink wrap or stretch wrap >is round or cylindrical, including (without limitation) mailing tubes, cans, buckets, barrels, tires, drums, or pails >is bound with metal, plastic, or cloth banding, or has wheels (e.g., a bicycle), casters, handles, or straps, including packages where the outer surface area is loosely wrapped, or where the contents protrude outside the surface area >could become entangled in, or cause damage to other packages or our sortation system	NATIONAL: 20.00 € per shipment, plus fuel. INTERNATIONAL: 40.00 € per shipment, plus fuel.
Additional Handling (Non-Conveyable) Applied to any shipments with less than 30kg physical weight which will not fit on a conveyor belt; i.e. if one or more dimensions exceeds 120x70x60cm. E.g. <30kg with a length exceeding 120cm, or <30kg with a width exceeding 70cm.	NATIONAL: 22,50€ per shipment, plus fuel. INTERNATIONAL: 45,00€ per shipment, plus fuel.
Address Correction Applied if any part of the delivery address requires amendment.	NATIONAL: 6,00€ per shipment, plus fuel. INTERNATIONAL: 5,00€ per shipment, plus fuel.
Bulky Piece Applied to any piece in a shipment over 30kg in weight and with any dimension exceeding: TNT Express: 120x120x150cm TNT Economy Express: 240x120x180cm TNT Domestic: 240x120x150cm	NATIONAL: 30,00€ per shipment, plus fuel. INTERNATIONAL: 55,00€ per shipment, plus fuel.
Duty Reversal/DDP Administered for billing customs taxes and duties to the shipper rather than the receiver.	€20 per shipment
Lithium Battery Surcharge Applied when sending lithium batteries. (Please comply with the restrictions on lithium battery transport.)	INTERNATIONAL: €5 per shipment
Non-Stackable Piece Applied when any piece/pallet in a shipment cannot be stacked due to the shape, contents or packaging of the goods (e.g. conical pallet). Please note: stackable pallets must be able to stand a weight of another 70kg pallet (120cmx80cm). This surcharge also may apply when TNT palletises your shipment if deemed necessary for transport.	NATIONAL: 100,00€ per shipment, plus fuel. INTERNATIONAL: 200,00€ per shipment, plus fuel.
Remote Area Charge Applied when the delivery location is defined as remote. Please check the list of out-of-area postcodes (PDF) to see if your delivery address will be affected.	NATIONAL: min. 35,00€ per shipment, plus fuel. INTERNATIONAL: min. 18,00€ per shipment or €0,35 per kg, whichever is greater, plus fuel.
Residential Surcharge For deliveries sent to residential addresses.	€1.75 per shipment, plus fuel.
Saturday Collection Applied for parcels picked up on a Saturday.	NATIONAL: 30€ per shipment
Saturday Delivery For deliveries on Saturday.	NATIONAL: 6€ per shipment
Fuel Surcharge A fee charged by TNT that covers the fluctuating cost of fuel. It is included in our prices and added on to some other surcharges as a percentage (where noted above). It varies depending on whether the service is express/air or standard/road. Fuel surcharges are updated regularly.	Please refer to the latest fuel surcharges

What if multiple Additional Handling surcharges apply to my shipment? Only one surcharge will be applied based on this hierarchy: (1) Exceeds Dimensions; (2) Non-Conveyable; (3) AHS-Packaging, and (4) AHS-Weight. Please note that Non-Stackable always applies in addition to aforementioned surcharges, if shipment is in scope of the non-stackable definition.

Volumetric Weight

TNT Express and TNT Domestic Express calculate volumetric weight on import services from countries outside of the EU, by multiplying the three dimensions of your parcel together and dividing by 5000. How volumetric weight is calculated.

Prohibited & Restricted Items

TNT does not collect from, or deliver, to exhibitions
TNT services are restricted to ‘business to business’ shipments only. Businesses operating from private addresses are usually accepted.

Documentation

Please note that TNT Economy Express can be transported wholly or partly by road.

As such, a T2 Export Declaration is required by German customs, even for goods valued under € 1,000, for the following destinations:
- Belarus
- Bosnia
- Canary Islands (Spain)
- Colombia
- Costa Rica
- Dominican Republic
- Ecuador
- Guatemala
- Morocco
- Mexico
- Panama
- Ukraine
- Venezuela
Shipments containing documents only do not require an Export Declaration.

Private individuals will need to apply for an EORI number.

This paperwork is not required for shipments transported by air and valued at less than € 1,000, for which you can use TNT Express or another air service.

Please note: Unfortunately Proof of delivery is subject to a charge after 90 days after delivery. The cost is €12.80 (+VAT) for national shipments and €20.45 (+VAT) for international shipments.
